Launching Large: Milestones for Planting Missional Churches
Imagine attracting and retaining a large group of people who are disconnected from Christ and the church from day one. This workshop takes the pre-launch church planter through a series of milestones designed to take you from conception to launch and beyond.
Sticky Church: Slamming Your Back Door Shut
Without long-term retention it’s nearly impossible to fulfill the last half of the Great Commission. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter how many people come through our front door if we leave the back door wide open. Join the author of STICKY CHURCH as we discover:
Financing the Mission: Proven Strategies for Increasing the Bottom Line
In our uncertain economic times we can’t afford to ignore our finances. Come discover proven financial strategies implemented by churches around the country. Regardless if you are pre-launch or post-launch this important workshop will help you clarify financial operational objectives, create strategies for creating a culture of generosity, create systems that don’t cost, but produces results, and develop a success matrix for your church.
Creative Coaching for Worship Pastors and Creative Teams
Imagine spending three hours with one of most creative minds in the creative arts world. Join Carlos Whittaker for this pre-conference workshop that focuses on closing the gap from the stage to the crowd. In this workshop Carlos will focus on four principles he uses in coaching worship leaders all over North America: creativity and spirituality, innovation, examination, and disrupting and disturbing.
Three Faces of the Church
Billy Hornsby is a veteran pastor, church planter, and leader. He is also the president of one of the largest church planting networks in North America. Join Billy and benefit from his passion and perspective for the North American Church. This workshop will take into account the complexity of the church and her three very unique faces. Billy will take your understanding and leadership as a church planter/new church pastor to a whole new level of insight and impact.
Missional Communities
In this pre-conference session Matt Carter takes a look at how they transitioned their community groups into authentic missional communities by answering the question, “How did Jesus build community?” He concluded, he called people (His disciples) unto Himself and to his mission. Over the past two years they have discovered that when you aimed simply for community; you get neither community nor mission. But when you aimed for mission; you get both. Come discover how you can mobilize your new church to be missional through your small group ministry.
Small Town…Big Impact
This workshop focuses on the unique challenges of planting and growing churches in small towns and remote areas. Charles Hill planted his first multi-site church in an Ohio town of 2,800 in 2002. Eight years later he is doing it again in the mecca know as Utah. Discover how to have impact in these unique places with little funds, little leadership, little vision, little encouragement, little help, etc. How to do alot with a little, and starting a church where relevance meets revival is the goal of this workshop.
Back to the Future: Lessons from Post-Christian Cultures
The future is already happening. Alan Hirsch, Larry McCrary, and Caleb Crider bring lessons from Europe and Australia to the North American Church. This session will focus on some of the lessons this team has learned from being engaged globally and how your church can engage with this global movement called the church.
Larry McCrary and Caleb Crider are co-founders of Upstream Collective. Larry currently lives in Germany and Caleb was a church planter in Barcelona and is now part of a church planting team in Portland, Oregon.

Every ministry that wants to have lasting kingdom impact must do the same.
Gospel Velocity – Let’s face it...it’s possible to plant a church and not plant the gospel. God has called us first and foremost planters of the gospel. When the gospel is planted churches spring up everywhere. In this session you will hear from three key speakers as they address different aspects of the gospel. David Putman – A Gospel for the Kingdom, Matt Carter- A Gospel for the PASTOR , and Darin Patrick – A Gospel for the CHURCH.

The Big 20: Personal Lessons in Leadership
After 21 years of being a church planter, pastor, entrepreneur, and leader, Brian Bloye will be sharing 20 key lessons he has learned on personal leadership development and developing leadership in those around you.
Expanding and Enhancing Your Church's Culture of Generosity
Gone are the days of the one-dimensional stewardship experience. In the face of today's economic uncertainty, church planters and their leaders face unprecedented, multifaceted stewardship and leadership challenges. Church planters may need to expand, relocate, or acquire property, yet many in the church may struggle with their personal finances. Your regular budget may need targeted attention, while others in your church, who if fully engaged, could leave a legacy that would impact generations to come. Whatever challenge is facing you, ISS and Rick Campbell will coach you in this session to apply the appropriate solution, crafting it to fit who God has created YOU to be!

This breakout will show you how to leverage these powerful (and free!) tools to better communicate with, teach, inspire and lead your people. And we'll have a blast doing it!
Untapped Potential: Reaching All Tribes and Tongues via the Local Church
Growing numbers of church planters, pastors and denominational leaders are now recognizing that the multi-ethnic church is not only biblical, but critical to the advance of the gospel in the 21st century. Indeed, research conducted by David Olson and reported in The American Church in Crisis (Zondervan, 2008), suggests the multi-ethnic church will become "the normal and natural face of Christianity" in the 21st century. Yet the passion for both unity and diversity within the local church must be driven not so much by the pursuit of racial reconciliation, but more so by a Biblical mandate and the need for men and women to be reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ. This session will clearly articulate the Biblical mandate for the multi-ethnic church and list the seven core commitments required to mix diversity into your local church.
More Money for Ministry
In this breakout, Casey will help you develop a step by step plan to increase revenue in 2010. Did you know there are five cycles of generosity you can tap into each year? In this session, Hugh Halter will unpack the story of Adullam which will help you think beyond normal church plant methods, funding options, and kingdom results. The key focus will be on decentralizing incarnational communities and holding the congregation together through non-consumer gatherings.
Make Some Noise! Standing Out in a Noisy Marketplace
How does your church plant make some noise in the community and get noticed? How do you approach branding and communications of your church plant to ensure that your message is relevant and heard in a busy market place? How do you leverage the internet, social networking, and viral marketing to connect with more people? This session explores the branding, launch and communications strategies that are paramount to a church plant today and focuses on utilizing digital solutions to get noticed and reach more people.
Slow Fade: Reasons Why Faith is Fading Away in the Next Generation
Many churches and families have programmed a youth ministry finish line at twelfth grade. They walk their seniors out the door, breathe a sigh of relief, and let them disappear for a few years. There is an assumption they’ll return to church later, as adults with young families.
The problem is, many never come back. Too old for youth group and uncomfortable with labels, college-aged Christians become disconnected from faith. They become less and less involved in church and faith and, eventually, absent altogether—they slowly fade away. Facing critical decisions that affect the rest of their lives, college-aged people need a faith community more than ever.
In this session, Reggie Joiner rethinks one-on-one mentorship as the way to end the slow fade. He offers insights and suggestions that will help anyone get started fighting the fade.

Creating Healthy Systems

But in a church plant, where things change so fast, how do you create healthy systems seemingly on the fly? In this session, Michael will talk about building healthy systems that will save time, save money, and allow you to accomplish more.
Church Unique: How Missional Leaders Cast Vision and Create Movement
Ministry leaders today have settled for photocopied vision and over-programmed strategies. What if your next step to effectiveness is NOT the latest resource, a silver-bullet program, or a leadership pep rally? What if the leader’s greatest asset is still imagination, fueled by faith, that translates into a stunningly unique, God-honoring vision? In Church Unique, you will first learn how to navigate out of the “unoriginal sin” that of most of our “vision” work produces today (church conferencing, outdated strategic planning, church growth methodology, etc.) Then, you will gain new insights that equip you to lead with unprecedented clarity, answering questions like, “What can our church do better than 10,000 others?” “What is the best model for communicating vision?” and “How do we deliver vision daily as a leadership team?”

Detox…for the Overly Religious
We live in a religious world. Even the unchurched, disconnected, and those who are far from God are greatly influenced by this religious world. Yet Jesus did not come to start a new religion. Jesus came to transcend religion and start a new movement call the way. In this workshop you will discover how your understanding of Jesus and his ways impact the church you plant and the church you lead.

Here’s the dirty little secret about preaching that most pastors know by experience, but wouldn’t dare admit publicly: sermons don’t produce lasting change in people’s lives; systems do. This breakout will give you practical insights and proven tools for building systems that connect people into relationships and responsibility...quickly. And the quicker and better the connections, the more likely you are to keep the people you reach.

Through some fundamental principles and the use of the right tools, you will understand that learning how to have a conversation creates better results than marketing who you are.
